Helping a capital-constrained NHS to fund its infrastructure
We helped a private investor explore compliant ways to fund NHS infrastructure, navigating strict rules, to identify workable solutions for delivering much-needed facilities.
We worked with a private investor to develop a project structure that would allow for the funding of new NHS infrastructure while remaining fully compliant with rules on private funding and capital usage. The aim was to find ways to deliver critical facilities without relying on the constrained capital budget.
Our role included:
Identifying options which looked to be viable.
Identifying deal structures that adhered to requirements, for specific project types.
Advising on what types of deals and circumstances could (and would not) work.
The outcome was a set of options, along with advantages and disadvantages, which might allow the NHS to access infrastructure in a way that met its needs. This enabled the client to better understand the boundaries and opportunities for private investment for particular types of healthcare infrastructure and project characteristics.
“I’ve had a great experience working with Matt as our adviser. It’s been very helpful to link into Matt’s substantial network of relationships. His approach is really refreshing, I’ve found that he thinks differently, and looks for solutions and the art of the possible, rather than simply identifying blockers.”
